Sometimes we get stuck in a rut. We forget about people; not that we forget they exist, but that we just don't pay any attention to them. We forget that God loves them as much as he loves us. Basically, we stop caring.
But that's not what God calls us to. He asks us to move away from our old ways of thinking and to start seeing people the way he sees them. He asks us to actually "die to ourselves," which can be a pretty hard thing to do as it tuns out. But if we are truly going to be the people, the church, God calls us to be, then we must start pursuing people the way he pursues them; and that means changing the way we think, talk, and behave.
