Youth Header (New)

Youth

To spread the loving power of God’s word, in an inviting manner, to as many people as is humanly possible.

Welcome to Crossroads Youth Group!   Whether it be through our Wednesday night meetings, post football game parties, fun-filled vacations, active recruiting, or hardworking community service projects, this group is fully dedicated to serving God to the best of our ability and having the time of our lives in doing so.

We have a great facility that includes a full-length basketball court, a kitchen fully loaded with all the snacks you could ever ask for, and a large youth room complete with comfortable couches, a 120 in. projection screen, and a PS3.

Getaways

Our vacations are probably the most exciting part of our group and that’s definitely saying something considering all of the activities that we take part in.  They are our best recruiting tool, most fun event, and, believe it or not, they present us with some of our strongest spiritual moments.  We take a number of these every year from destinations unknown, where we just load up the van and go somewhere for a day or two without anyone but Kyle knowing where we’re going, to our annual River Run trip.

Canoeing

Youth Camping Trip (2008) 5
The River Run trip is the biggest vacation we take every year.  Last year we went to Buffalo National Park in Arkansas and spent three days camping, canoeing, and swimming on the Buffalo National River.  These trips always make for a great time and even better memories.  If you’ve never gone on one, you have no idea what you’re missing out on.

Weekend Fun

We often gather on weekends just to hang out, go fishing, or for post football game parties. We always enjoy spending whatever time we can together.

Service Projects

Youth House Painting 1 - Youth Service Projects
This group feels that community service is very important.  Many adults and elderly people have a stereotypical image of teenagers planted into their minds and, more often than not, this is not necessarily a positive picture.  We use community service as a method of changing their minds.  Most Sunday afternoons, several of us can be found cutting wood, mowing a yard, or painting a house for someone in the community who is unable to do it on their own.

From the outreaching service projects to our amusing and entertaining vacations, the leaders and members of this group never run out of fun and exciting things to do; however, amongst all of this enjoyable activity, we’re careful to never lose sight of our main goal: to spread the loving power of God’s word, in an inviting manner, to as many people as is humanly possible.
